Anointing of the Sick

The purpose of the Anointing of the Sick is to pray for healing.  Since the time of the apostles, we have turned to God asking for healing of mind, body and soul through a personal anointing with oil.  We remember the healing the Jesus Christ offered on earth, and we pray for strength and the grace of perseverance.  This sacrament is meant to provide those with serious illness the comforting reassurance of God’s healing grace---please discern your participation in this sacrament based on the severity of your illness. 

During the course of the year, there are communal celebrations of Anointing of the Sick during Mass, so the entire parish community can offer its prayers for the sick.  Otherwise, please contact the Parish Office to receive this sacrament in private, at your home, in a hospital, etc.  The homebound may also want to request the Eucharist and the sacrament of reconciliation.
